"SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL" was a sailing training ship built by RICHARD DUNSTON LTD in Yorkshire, she was launched in 1966, her patron was Prince Philip. In 1967 she had a very trouble year, she sank in Southampton in January and than later in July the ship ran aground at Anglesey, she was quickly refloated, the ship was 218 GRT with a crew of 9 and capacity for 13 passengers, during the Tall Ship Races role for what she was built, she normally carried 35 passengers, the ship was sold in 2000 and is now a private yacht, photos of this beautiful schooner at Dover back in August of 1997
